about.

My name is Michelle. A proud, trilingual, afrolatina. Born in Northern California, to immigrant parents. My mother is AfroBrazilian, and my father is from Mexico. Both with their native tongues, taught me the magical sounds of their languages; Portuguese and Spanish.
Writing has always exceeded my hobbies. With my writings, I try to represent all emotional factors of life and identity. Through poetry, I let my heart speak, and the words flow. I believe writing heals. It calms. It helps.
My art is community inspired. I paint my community, woman who look like me, or my mom; grandmother, aunties, cousins, friends, mentors. Woman who surround me with positivity, love and creativity.
I hope you enjoy what you see!
